I have a folder of project files set aside for Christmas, and went looking for a design which was for every day of the year, and the first project i clicked on has just red and white … no green, so it is for those who follow any sporting team who wear red and white during their games.
Looking at these, I have had a thought … make enough blocks for a quilt top, then quilt them as you go, then put them together with some blocks facing the wrong way. Wonder if it would work as well in real life as ...

Two different 9 patch blocks, with some quilting motifs based on different 9 patch blocks.
This is part of a rather large series of project files using 9P blocks and just 2 colours which I have ignored for a couple of years … or more!
My favourite of these two is the first one, by far!
There are quite a few files with the same 9P/red and white theme, so I think I will follow that theme for this week.

Mmm! Looks like I used two different weight threads to virtually quilt this project file!
The quilting designs are all based on the collection of blocks I have used for the designs, but without the seam lines used to piece the block together. They are also without the background fillers I would use on open spaces, though in these designs there is probably enough quilting to hold the layers together without the need for fillers.
Now let me see if the next design has the same variation in the thread, or perhaps it is the virtual stitching!
